making use of some deer vertebrae…
i macerated this blackbird skull a few months ago. it sat in various collages throughout the house until i realized it looked the best on its own and fixed it to a painted background. i also have plans for this guy’s pelvis and feet.
New Work. So Far. I have been getting kinda rad every night and finally making shit again. There are a few on insta if you’re interested, I’m not so interested in posting it all here yet. (Taken with Instagram)
i went back 23 pages on this blog to find this post. love matchstick portraits. kinda want to try one out for myself…
my friend won this sick planter in a game of white elephant. she thought it was creepy, which is just our style, though her original concrete tone wasn’t. so i painted her black and stuffed some dried roses in her noggin. she looks great on the mantle.
i did a new mixed media painting last night and hung it above the mantle in place of the american nightmare poster. it still needs a frame and a coat of varnish, but i couldn’t resist putting it up.
this fucking view!
we made a faux mantle out of a used twin headboard. i’ve seen people do this vice-versa and make headboards out of old mantles, but i couldn’t find anything like this anywhere else, so i made it up as i went. sawed a few parts off, super glued some random shit on, and painted it black. perfectly houses a fraction of our book collection, taper candles and that sick vintage perfume holder. we need to find some fabric or material of some sort to put in that gap and give the illusion of depth, but otherwise, this puppy is good to go and looks sophisticated as hell in the space between our living room and dining room.
